A quick run down of my favorite finds of 2012! (in no particular order)
Smashbox photo finish light primer
This primer goes on so smooth and actually makes your skin feel smoother & softer with use. It’s great for sensitive skin (which I have). I don’t even always use it as a primer since I don’t normally wear foundation. I have found that it helps my skin texture so I put it on after my moisturizer.
Nexus pro mend split end binding straightening lotion
I often wrap my hair at night to straighten it. This lotion helps with that as well as making my split ends disappear. My hair stylist tells me that despite all the coloring I do, my hair is in wonderful condition. I believe I owe it (at least in part) to this!
Sugar rose tinted lip treatment spf 15
I received this for my birthday from Sephora. It glides on super smooth and definitely helps with chapped lips. I don’t think the tint is much of a tint, but it’s something. I love it for the smoothness!
Kat Von D sin-full lash mascara
Mascara is generally the only make up I wear on a daily basis. I love short fat brush. It gets all my lashes and does not clump. I have a few others in rotation that are also good, but Kat Von D’s is the one I’ve been using for awhile. Plus the packaging is so pretty. Can’t go wrong with that.
Josie Maran 100% pure argan oil
I decided to try out an oil as I had a sample size (see previous review of shu uemura cleansing oil). I bought the smallest size of the Josie Maran because oils are expensive! Luckily a little goes a long way. After trying them I will never go back. My skin gets ridiculously dry in the winter and this has helped tremendously. I have sensitive skin and it has not made me break out. The smell of this one is much better than the Shu Uemura. I’m very happy with this product. I might not use it in summer, but it’s a winter staple. I should mention it is not just for washing your face - it is an all over moisturizer, can be used on cuticles, dry hair & in the bath!
Be a Bombshell Hot mess lip gloss
Oww-wee, I got this in my December Ipsy bag and I was so excited. It’s a fabulous shade, goes on easy and is long lasting. I thought I lost it and was so upset. (even though I have a million lip glosses). This one is the closest to perfect I have found.
Sephora smokey kohl eyeliner
This was an impulse buy. I was in Sephora and they had a ton of things on sale. Some were misses (the lip tattoos) but this was truly a hit! I bought a black one and a purple. It’s easier to apply since the pencil (do I still call it that?) is fat. I’m not sure what is going to happen once it gets more worn down.. but for now they are both wonderful for doing cat eyes, regular liner, even the waterline. Really loving the easy application.
St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer
I’m always looking to moisturize, especially in winter. I picked this up for a few bucks and I really love it. I use it both day and night. I don’t know that it is reducing lines and wrinkles, but I don’t pay much attention to that stuff anyway (not yet). It has a nice scent, goes on easy and helps with my dry skin. It’s also a pretty good sized tub so it has lasted me quite awhile. If you are looking for a new moisturizer, give it a whirl.
